Since being a child, high-school girl named Yurara Tsukinowa, has been able to see, hear and feel ghosts and spirits. What she doesn’t know is what’s inside of her in relation with her strong ability and powers of sensing spirits. Upon arriving to another year at school, she encounters three issues: one: a popular girl is complaining on being in the same classroom with her, two: the two most popular and handsome boys at school are sitting at her row and she’s in the middle of them, and three: there’s a very angry spirit sitting on her desk. As the days passes, the spirit gets more and more violent against her, who supposedly has taken her seat; meanwhile Yurara gets to know more about this popular guys who aren’t that normal: they both can see and fight spirits. Yako Hoshino tells the story of the boy who stole money and committed suicide in the same classroom they are studying which may be related with the spirit of the girl haunting her, but to her dismay, after she starts to run as she got scared of the tale, she gets attacked-but to Yako’s surprise he sees the head of a woman with long black hair appearing to protect Yurara. But the issue doesn’t end there, the spirit decides to attack a second time in which Yurara sees the story of the spirit, and when she’s about to fall to the floor a new strange person appears instead of the cute, shy, blond haired Yurara, instead, is found a long black hair beauty with long legs and arms- very tall and powerful woman who helps the spirit to go to heaven. After Yako explains what must be that strange beauty that emerges sometimes from Yurara, she will encounter different situations that involves, high-school girls jealous of her, boys and spirits. Her strange transformation will save her from drying in the water while trying to pass to heaven a small child found in the swimming pool. And, with this two completely personalities the boys start to unravel their feelings and emotions when it comes to being one or another. What and how will they react every time this strange phenomenon happens again? 

Opinions:

I may have a long list of mangas that I love but I have to say that Chika Shiomi is by far one of my top 5 most loved and adored mangaka. Since I read this manga (long time ago) I have always loved it- you don’t know how many times my heart goes ‘doki-doki’ and heart-broken at the same time. I ALWAYS cry at the end of the story. This story besides the beautiful art, it caught my attention that Yurara, a very young girl who has to deal with ghosts, spirits and more frightening things, with school, boys and girls, is a girl who wasn’t scared of the spirits, rather one that wanted to help them; one that wanted to have the power needed to give them aid. Also, while the stories are a bit sad in this volume, I still laughed SO much when I saw their faces and how well I can imagine the way they would use a tone and their expressions are. Believe me, you can even notice the slight differences of expressions made by the ever stiff Yako! And while I was rereading this I got tears in my eyes when I saw the last page; “Today Yako… seems a bit more… kind than usual”. The reason is because I remember always when I finished the whole series, I was very, very sad. That is, until I saw that a new series that would have my favorite character: Yako, would appear- I was truly happy to have more bits of his amazing world and life even though is …well, sad. And a very particular scene in the other series called Rasetsu, she says the same about him. Anyway, enjoy this story! I’ll be uploading the reviews of this amazing five volumes <3.

En la escuela intermedia, Futaba Yoshioka fue ignorada por las niñas por “actuar como nena linda”. Aunque solo actuaba como ella misma, pronto terminó sin amistades. Lo único positivo para ella en la escuela era Kou Tanaka, el niño que le gustaba. Aunque apenas hablaban juntos su conexión era innegable, al menos para ellos. Un día Futaba encuentra a Kou en el santuario, finalmente juntos, ambos confiesan sus sentimientos y acuerdan salir juntos al festival dentro de unos días. Tristemente, las oportunidades para que su amor florezca terminan abruptamente cuando Kou escucha a Futaba decir que odia a todos los niños.  Todo fue un mal entendido, Futaba solo trataba de escapar de una situación incómoda, pero Kou lo tomó más en serio…nunca apareció para encontrarse con Futaba, cambio de escuelas abruptamente después del verano y nunca se volvieron a ver.

En la escuela superior Futaba puso su “acto de nena linda” a un lado y adoptó una nueva y relajada actitud. ¡Pero las cosas comenzaron a cambiar cuando encontró un muchacho que se parecía a Kou Tanaka! Claro, era más alto, tenía la voz más gruesa, y su actitud era más fría, pero estaba segura de que era Kou; y lo era….más o menos. El niño que Futaba una vez conoció había cambiado por completo. Ni siquiera su apellido era el mismo, ahora se llamaba Mabuchi. Tan pronto Futaba confrontó a Mabuchi, este confirmó que sí era el niño que tenía sentimientos por ella en la escuela intermedia, pero que esos sentimientos ya se habían disipado. ¿Las cosas realmente terminarán así?

Opinión:

Este anime es cálido, romántico y adorable, y te dejará deseando por más. Hay escenas sentimentales entre los personajes principales e historias detalladas para los personajes secundarios. Sentirás empatía hacia cada uno de ellos; especialmente hacia Kou. Es importante ver el anime teniendo en mente que no está completo. El manga no ha terminado tampoco, y es por esto que el último episodio te dejará ansioso por más. Pero no te preocupes, tan pronto termines el anime continúa la historia por el manga. ¡La aventura solo está por comenzar!

In junior high Futaba Yoshioka was ignored by the girls for “acting cute” around guys, she was just being herself, but soon she was left friendless. Her only beacon of light was Kou Tanaka, the boy she liked. Even though they barely spoke together they had an undeniable connection that only they knew about. One day Futaba finds Kou at a shrine, finally alone, they end up confessing their love to each other and agreeing to meet one day to go to the festival together. Sadly, the chances of their love blossoming stopped abruptly when Kou heard Futaba say she hated boys. It was all a misunderstanding, Futaba was only trying to escape an uncomfortable encounter, but Kou took it a bit more seriously…he never showed up to meet with Futaba, he changed schools abruptly after that summer vacation, and they never saw each other again.

In high school Futaba decided to put the “cute act” aside, she adopted a new, laid back persona and worked hard in fitting in. But things started changing when she spotted a boy that looked exactly like Kou Tanaka! Of course, he was taller, his voice was deeper, his attitude colder; but she was sure it was Kou. And it was…sort of. The boy Futaba was once knew had completely changed. His last name wasn’t even the same, now he was Kou Mabuchi. Once Futaba confronted Mabuchi he confirmed that he was that boy in junior high that had feelings for Futaba, but he didn’t anymore. Will it really end like this?

Thoughts:

This is a heartwarming anime that will leave you wanting for more. There are beautiful scenes between the main characters, and engaging back stories on the secondary characters as well. You will come to empathize and appreciate every one of them; especially Kou. It’s important to watch the anime knowing that it’s not completed. The manga is still ongoing and because of this, the last episode will leave you expectant for more. But don’t fret, as soon as you finish the anime just continue the story through the manga. The adventure has only begun.

La aventura comienza cuando en la duodécima expansión de Cuentos del Elder (Elder Tales), un Masivo Multijugador en línea y juegos de rol con alrededor de veinte millones de jugadores, treinta mil solo en Japón, se encuentran atrapados en el juego si iniciarón la sección. La historia se centraliza con Shiroe, de nivel noventa, mitad-Alv mago el cual realiza que está en Akihabara y encuentra que su amigo Naotsugu está conectado. Mientras en su camino de recolectar información, Shiroe y su amigo Naotsugu se encuentran con un ninja sijilozo que conoce a Shiroe, y le pregunta si le puede vender la posión cambia-apariencia; la cual transforma al ninja en una adorable chica de pelo negro llamada Akatsuki. Shiroe se percata que hay más cantidades de NPC que antes, los cuales son llamados “People of the Land” (Las Personas de la Tierra), mientras que los jugadores son llamados Aventureros; pero también toda la hermosa comida hecha por el juego… sabe a lo mismo- a nada. Mientras comen, él recive una llamada de Maryelle, la lider de ‘Crescent Moon Alliance’ y decide darle una visita. Shiroe aprende que las puertas interurbanas de transporte estan fuera de línea el cual quiere decir que el único modo de moverse es a “pie". Más tarde, Shiroe con sus amigos ayudará a rescatar Serara, una chica que estaba siendo perseguida por otra alianza y un antiguo miembro de la ‘Luna Creciente’ (Crescent Moon); en el cual Shiroe y Naotsugu encontrarán a otro amigo; Nyanta, que estaba en el legendario ‘Debauchery Tea Party’ el cual logran hacerlo utilizando asombrosos y muy raros grifones para poder llegar

temprano y a salvo. Ellos también averiguan que cuando tu mueres revives, como en el juego, en la catedral. Pero esto quiere decir que otros jugadores pueden matarte y llevarse tus artículos. En su viaje de regreso, Nyanta les muestra que hay una manera de hacer que el alimento tenga buen sabor: tienes que hacerlo con tus propias manos y no con el sistema; pero hay una trampa: necesitas ser un chef. Despúes de llegar, Shiroe recibe la noticia de cómo todas las guías están trabajando para hacerse mejor y más fuerte y sobre la guía llamada Hamelin en la que dos hermanos ( Touya y Minori ) están atrapados como esclavos. ¿Será Shiroe capaz de formar una alianza entre las guías y salvar a sus dos pequeños amigos? ¿Será capaz de hacer su propia guía, siendo un jugador solitario durante tanto tiempo? ...

Opinión:

Log Horizon es por mucho uno de los mejores animes que he visto. La historia es increíble en su propia manera, en un entorno más "amigable ", (no olvidemos que todavía pueden matar, tomar tus cosas y hacerte esclavo) pero las aventuras y desafíos que Shiroe y sus amigos tendrán van a ser increíbles y exorbitantes. Lo que pasa con esta historia es que las “Personas de la Tierra” comenzarán a actuar como nosotros lo hacemos, el cual puedes notarlos desde el episodio primero. Shiroe hará diferentes cambios incluso si esto significa cambiar sus propios ideales para ayudar a los demás y será ; más de lo que ya es ; un jugador increíble .

The adventure begins when at the twelfth expansion of Elder Tales, a Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game with over twenty million players, thirty thousand in Japan only, are found trap in the game itself if they were log-in. The story is centered with Shiroe, a level ninety, half-Alv enchanter realizes he’s in Akihabara and finds that his friend Naotsugu is online. While in their way to gathering information Shiroe and his friend Naotsugu encounter a quiet ninja that knows Shiroe, and asks him if he can sell the appearance-changing potion; which transforms the ninja into a cute, black haired girl called Akatsuki. Shiroe notices that there are more NPC than before, which are called People of the Land, while the players are called Adventurers; but also all the beautiful-looking well-made food… tastes the same- like nothing. While eating, he receives a call from Maryelle, the leader of ‘Crescent Moon Alliance’ and decides to pay a visit. Shiroe learns that inter-city transport gates are offline meaning the only way to move is by “foot”. Later on, Shiroe with his friends will help to rescue Serara, a girl that was being followed by another alliance and a former member of the Crescent Moon; in which Shiroe and Naotsugu will find another friend; Nyanta, that was in the legendary the Debauchery Tea Party and they do so using amazing, and very rare griffons in order to

arrive safe and early. They also find out that when you die you revive, like in the game, at the cathedral. But this means that other players can kill you and take your items. In their return trip, Nyanta shows them that there’s a way to make food taste good: making it with your own hands and not with the system; but there’s a catch: you need to be a chef. After arriving, Shiroe gets the news of how all the guides are working to make themselves better and stronger, and about the guild called Hamelin in which two siblings (Touya and Minori) are being held as slaves. Will Shiroe be able to form an alliance between the guilds and save his two little friends? Will he be able to make his own guild, being a solo player for so long?...

Thoughts:

Log Horizon is by far one of the best anime I have seen. The story is amazing on its own way in a more “friendly” environment, (let’s not forget that they still can kill you, take your things and slave you) but the adventures and challenges Shiroe and his friends will have are amazing and mind-blowing. The thing about this story is that The People of the Land will start to act as we do, which you can see from episode one. Shiroe will make different changes even if it means to change his own ideals to help others and will be; more than he already is; an amazing player.

 El Cielo al cual regresarás algún día es la historia de cómo Sudou Mikuzu, una chica temerosa de los chicos y de los fantasmas, conoce a Seto Ashiya (un exorcista travesti) y a Kagari (un vampiro bello que puede transformarse en un lobo) en la célebre mansión embrujada que todos conocen, mientras intenta escapar de un monstruo. Ellos acuerdan por escrito que Mikuzu pagará un pastel a Seto cada vez que éste haga desaparecer a un fantasma. Al día siguiente, Seto visita a Mikuzu en la escuela de ésta, en que Mikuzu descubrirá una facultad suya extraordinaria, consistente en ver criaturas que la gente normal no puede ver; descubrirá por tanto que es una “kenki” y que “oni” es el término que se emplea para designar tales criaturas. Días más tarde, cuando Mikuzu está a punto de morir, Seto y Kagari le salvan de un monstruo pero, para sorpresa suya, Mikuzu descubre que ese monstruo era lo que le perseguía por todos lados; resulta entonces que el monstruo fue antaño un hombre y que anduvo entonces enamorado de Mikuzu sin confesar a ésta, sin embargo, su amor por ella. De esta manera, Mikuzu, Seto y Kagari hiciéronse amigos y compañeros en la misión de exorcizar a los “oni”.

En La voluntad del Cielo, las historias de cómo Seto Ashiya adoptó la conducta travesti y de cómo Kagari conoció a Seto serán descubiertas por Mikuzu mientras los tres intentan exorcizar el piano de Souichirou Takayanagi (el presidente del consejo estudiantil de la escuela superior Seiou) en una semana.

Descripción de los personajes:

Sudou Mikuzu es una chica que tiene pelo negro corto, es bien delgada y tiene grandes ojos negros. Es particularmente temerosa, quizá a causa de la facultad extraordinaria que posee, la cual le permite ver fantasmas y otras criaturas. Teme a los individuos del sexo masculino. Mikuzu toca el piano y hornea pasteles.

Seto Ashiya: Tiene pelo rubio largo y grandes ojos marrones. Viste a la moda Lolita. Su arma es un bello abanico brillante de mano que encierra un misterio. Es muy fuerte y es el maestro de Kagari. Ama comer pasteles y el almíbar (syrup) de arce y el de mantequilla.

Kagari: tiene pelo negro, unos ojos azules gélidos y es bien alto. Él es un vampiro y puede transformarse en un lobo; obtiene su alimento de la mano de Seto, puesto que éste es su maestro. Kagari suele ser un tipo callado. Seto es el único que puede hacer realidad su deseo (i.e. el de Kagari).

Opinión:

Es triste que esta historia consista solamente en un volumen. Hay una carta dentro del libro en que el autor explica que Mikuzu nunca se enamorará de Seto; nunca sabremos si Seto cambiará de parecer, ni lo que ocurrirá a Kagari, ni cuál era el nombre verdadero de Seto. Sabemos únicamente que Kagari luce más tranquilo y que Mikuzu sería más feliz si los tres permaneciesen juntos. Todos se esforzaron tanto por entenderse mutuamente y acercarse entre sí que todo ello tocó en verdad mi corazón.  ¡Ah!, y un sombrero corona la “n” del título.

Review:

The Heaven to which you will someday return, is the story of how Sudou Mikuzu a girl with a phobia toward boys and scared of ghosts met Seto Ashiya; a cross-dressing exorcist; and Kagari a beautiful vampire that can transform into a wolf, in the famous haunted mansion that everyone knows about while trying to escape from a monster. They make a contract in which Mizuku will pay Seto with a cake every time he makes a ghost disappear. The next day, Seto visits Mikuzu at school in where she will learn that she can see things that normal people can’t because she’s a Kenki and that oni is the term used referring to those creatures. Days later, when Mikuzu is about to die Seto and Kagari save her from the monster, but much to her surprise she finds out that the monster was the stalker that appeared everywhere she was- he became a monster because of this but when he was saved by Seto he explained that he wondered why he never confessed his love for her. This is how Seto, Mukuzu and Kagari became friends and companions to exorcism the oni.

In Heaven’s Will the stories of how Seto Ashiya started to cross dress and how Kagari met Seto will be found out by Mikuzu while the three of them try to exorcism the piano of Souichirou Takayanagi, the student council president of Seiou High School; within a week.

Characters overview:

Sudou Mikuzu: She has short black hair, is very slim and has big, black eyes. She’s very easily scared as she has the power to see ghosts and many creatures and has a phobia toward boys. Mikuzu is able to play the piano and bake cakes. 

Seto Ashiya: Has long beautiful blonde hair and big brownish eyes; he dresses in Lolita fashion. His weapon is a beautiful, shiny fan that holds a mystery. He’s very strong and is the master of Kagari. Loves to eat cakes and really likes maple and butter syrup.

Kagari: Has black hair and blue icy eyes and is very tall. He’s a vampire that can transform into a wolf; being Seto his master he feeds from him. Kagari tends to be very quiet. His only wish can be done only by Seto. 

Thoughts:

It’s really sad that this story is a one-volume shot. There’s a letter inside the book in which the author explains that Mikuzu will never fall in love with Seto. We will never know if Seto changed his mind nor what will happen with Kagari, nor which was the real name of ‘Seto’. What we know is that Kagari seemed more at ease and that Mikuzu would be happy if the three of them stayed together. They all worked so hard to understand each other and become closer that it really touched my heart. Oh! And the “n” in the title has a little hat.

No Game No Life es la historia de hermanos hikikomori Shiro y Sora, increíbles NEET (por sus siglas en inglés: No Educación, Empleo o Entrenamiento) quienes se han convertido en leyendas urbanas por sus misteriosos nombres en video juegos “[     ]” (en blanco), pero con más importancia, ya que nunca han perdido un juego. Un día, luego de ganarle a 1,200 jugadores reciben un correo electrónico de un remitente desconocido el cual preguntaba: ¿Ustedes hermanos nunca han sentido que nacieron en el mundo equivocado? Mientras Sora se pregunta cómo esta persona sabe que son hermanos divisa un enlace electrónico el cual los dirige a un juego de ajedrez. Luego de ganar, reciben otro correo electrónico con preguntas como qué harían si existiera un mundo sin reglas o metas. Sus respuestas fueron que nacieron en el mundo incorrecto. Repentinamente fueron transportando al mundo de Tet, un mundo donde todo es decidido por juegos y las diez promesas solemnes.

¿Qué son estas diez promesas? Las mismas fueron hechas por Tet al ser nombrado Único y Verdadero Dios luego de ganar la guerra eterna en la cual los viejos dioses y sus creaciones pelearon por el título que gano Tet. Para que las promesas apliquen los jugadores deben alzar sus manos y decir “Aschente”.

Personajes:
1)Sora: Hermano mayor de Shiro. Tiene diez y ocho años, es excelente analizando las expresiones de sus oponentes y sus movimientos; también parece ser bueno en juegos de amor. Tiene pelo carmesí y ojos rojos; es alto, delgado y utiliza una camisa con la inscripción “Amo la Humanidad”.

2)Shiro: Tiene once años y es excelente con cálculos, conoce un promedio de veinte idiomas y puede aprender uno nuevo en quince minutos. Parece ser excelente al ajedrez y juegos de pistolas. Su cabello es largo y azul pálido, tiene ojos rojos y usa un uniforme de marinera violeta.

3)Stephanie Dola: Tiene diez y ocho años y fue princesa en el reino Imanity (humano). Tiene el cabello corto y rojo, el cual adorna con una flor azul. La misma combina con sus ojos azules y su traje elegante. Es ingenua, muy social y puede hacer amistades con facilidad. También maneja los asuntos del Estado…y hace galletas.

Pensamientos:
Este anime es uno de los mejore que he visto. Adoro los colores, los personajes, y claro está, la trama. Aunque no sea gamer puedo disfrutar la increíble historia y hasta entender algunas de las referencias que hacen en la serie, como el del juego Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney. Mi personaje favorito es Shiro porque, personalmente, la adoro y admiro sus habilidades para los juegos. ¡Espero que lo disfruten porque este anime esta genial!

No Game No Life is the story of hikikomori siblings Shiro and Sora, incredible NEET (Not in Education, Employment, or Training) that have become urban legends because of their mysterious gamer name “[   ]” (blank), but more importantly because they have never lost a game. One day, after defeating 1,200 players, they receive an email from an unknown sender with a question: “Have you two siblings ever felt like you were born in the wrong world? While Sora is wondering how does the person knows they are siblings, he notices a link which leads them to a chess game. After winning, they receive another email with questions such as what they would do if there was a world with clear rules and goals, and their answer is that if there’s a world like that then they were born on the wrong world. Suddenly after that, they are transported/reborn in Tet’s world, a world in which everything is decided by games and ten pledges. Sora decides that they will save Imanity and conquer the world in order to challenge again Tet, the last God.

What are the ten pledges? The ten pledges were made by Tet when he was named the One True God after winning in the eternal war in which the old gods and their creations fought for the right to be the One True God. In order for this pledges to apply the players need to raise their hands and say “Aschente”.

Characters Overview:
1)Sora: Older brother of Shiro, he’s eighteen years old. He’s excellent at analyzing the opponent’s expressions and next movements; he also seems to be good at love games. He has maroon hair and red eyes; he’s tall and thin and wears a shirt that says “I heart (love) Humanity”.

2)Shiro: She’s eleven years old and is excellent with calculations; she knows about twenty languages and can learn a new one in fifteen minutes. Seems to be excellent in chess and shooting games. Has long pale blue hair, red eyes and wear a purple sailor uniform.

3)Stephanie Dola: She’s eighteen years old and was a princess in the Imanity kingdom. She has short red hair with a blue flower, blue eyes and wears an elegant dress. She’s naïve, very social and can make friends very easy. She also handles Imanity state affairs… and makes good cookies.

Thoughts:
This anime is by far one of the best I have ever seen. I adore the colors, the characters and of course the plot. Even if I’m not a gamer I can still enjoy the amazing story and still understand some references through the story, like the game Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney. My favorite character is the adorable genius Shiro because I adore her personally and her amazing abilities in games. Hope you enjoy it because this anime is AWESOME!

Tohru Honda, una niña huérfana viviendo en el bosque, de repente ve una casa grande, bella y pacífica en la cual los miembros de la familia Sohma están viviendo con una antigua maldición familiar; a sorpresa de Tohru, el “príncipe” de su escuela Yuki Sohma vive allí. Más adelante, mientras Yuki y Shigure Sohma caminan hacia su casa notan a Tohru caminando por el bosque y  se preguntan dónde ella vive, esto ya que toda la propiedad les pertenece a la familia Sohma y ellos no han rentado ninguna tierra. Cuando Tohru llega a su “casa”, la cual en realidad es una tienda para acampar, ¡encuentra que Yuki y Shigure la estaban esperando! En seguida, ellos llevan a Tohru a su casa y allí esta pregunta si puede rentar un pedazo de tierra para acampar en lo que la casa de su abuelo la terminen de arreglar. EL problema es, y Yuki explica, que en esas tierras puede ocurrir un derrumbe en cualquier momento y por seguridad no pueden dejar que resida allí. En la casa de los muchachos a Tohru le da una fiebre alta por trabajar en exceso y porque perdió la foto de su madre. Allí le explica a Shigure que su meta es graduarse de la escuela superior ya que su madre no lo pudo lograr. Al otro día Yuki sorprende a Tohru con la foto de su madre y con una invitación a que resida en la casa Sohma en lo que la remodelación de la casa de su abuela fuese completada; además, la casa está en necesidad de una buena limpieza. Pero apenas está entrando a su nuevo cuarto, Tohru ve a un muchacho salir de atrás de una pared a buscar una pelea con Yuki. Le gritaba a Yuki “¡niño rata!”, y justo antes de que el joven misterioso atacara Tohru lo trata de detener pero accidentalmente lo abraza… ¡y él se convierte en gato! Ahí termina la vida “normal” de Tohru. ¿Esta Tohru Honda preparada para involucrarse en la vida mágica de maldiciones y leyendas de la familia Sohma?

¿Cuál es la maldición de la familia Sohma?

Desde hace cientos de años la familia ha sido poseída por los doce animales del zodiaco chino, pero existe un espíritu número trece, el gato. (Solamente trece miembros de la familia Sohma tienen la maldición de los espíritus de los animales del zodiaco chino.) Cada miembro puede comunicarse con su animal zodiaco, pero por alguna razón, si se encuentran cansados o son abrazados por el sexo opuesto se transforman en ellos. 

La leyenda del Banquete: 

Un día, Dios le dijo a los animales, “Los invito a todos a mi banquete mañana. ¡No lleguen tarde!”. Luego de escuchar eso la Rata le mintió al Gato diciendo que el banquete era el día después. La Rata, el Buey, el Tigre y el resto de los animales asistieron al banquete, pero el Gato no, y es por esto que no fue incluido en el zodiaco chino.

Tohru Honda, an orphan girl living in the woods suddenly sees a big, beautiful and peaceful house in which members of the Sohma family are living with an ancient curse, and to her surprise Yuki Sohma known in school as “Prince Charming’ is living there! Later on, when Yuki Sohma and Shigure Sohma are walking toward their house they see Tohru walking by herself and they wonder where she lives as the whole place is theirs and they haven’t rented any part of the land to anyone. When Tohru Honda arrives to her “home” (which is really a tent) she finds that Yuki and Shigure were waiting for her! They take her to their home and she asks if they can rent her a place to camp until the remodeling of her grandpa’s house is done. But Shigure explains that a landslide could happen, and it does covering everything with a mountain of mud. Tohru had to stay in the Sohma’s house as she got a fever from overworking but is really sad because she lost her mother’s picture and she explains to Shigure her goal of graduating from high-school as her mother didn’t do so. The next day Yuki gives her the surprise that he saved the picture of her mother but also that she’s welcome to stay in their house until the remodeling of her grandpa’s house is done and as she likes doing house-work she should stay; besides the Sohma house needs cleaning! But just as she’s entering her room, from nowhere a boy comes out of a wall to pick a fight with Yuki, calling him ‘rat-boy’; and when he was about to attack Tohru tries to stop him and accidently hugs him… and he transforms into a cat! And that’s when Tohru Honda’s “normal” life changes by knowing the curse of the Sohma family. Is Tohru Honda ready to get involved in the magical world of curses and legends of the Sohma family?

What is the curse of the Sohma family? For hundreds of years the Sohma family has been possessed by the twelve spirits found in the Chinese zodiac, but there’s the thirteen spirit: the cat (in total, only thirteen members of the family are possessed). They can communicate with their respective animals, but for some unknown reason when they are very tired and/or hugged by the opposite sex they transform. 

The legend of the Banquet: One day, God told the animals “I’m inviting you all to my banquet tomorrow. Don’t be late!” after hearing that the Rat lied to the Cat saying that the banquet was the day after. The next day the Rat, Ox, Tiger and the rest of the animals; but the Cat, who had been tricked, feasted until the morning, and so the Cat was never made a zodiac animal.

La historia comienza con un niño de cabello azul llamado Aladino el cual demanda saber qué es el, pero el djinn, llamado Ugo, no le puede contestar. En vez, le ofrece a Aladino la oportunidad de concederle un deseo. Más adelante Aladino conoce a Alibaba, un jóven sirviente el cual está tratando de adinerarse; mientras se comía las sandías que Alibaba estaba cuidando. En la casa de Alibaba, Aladino le explica que hace catorce años unas estructuras mágicas extrañas, conocidas como Calabozos, comenzaron a aparecer alrededor del mundo. La persona que complete uno de estos calabozos ganará poder y riquezas como: oro, joyería y artículos mágicos; todo lo que Alibaba necesita. Sin embargo, Aladino también menciona que los mejores artículos son los djinn, las vasijas de metal.En la calle ven una niña con una canasta enorme llena de frutas, pero –lo peor– sus pies estaban encadenados, siendo esto un símbolo de ser una esclava. La niña nota que ambos les están mirando los pies, y mientras trata de esconderlos tambalea y cae al suelo. Aladino no le gusta cómo el amo de Alibaba trata a la niña, así que decidió llamar a Ugo para que asustara al amo. Luego ocurre un accidente en el desierto mientras tratan de entregan un vino, y se manifiestan de nuevo los poderes de Aladino: su enorme djinn, Ugo, y su turbante mágico cual, ¡se convierte en una alfombra voladora! Luego de presenciar esto Alibaba reconoce que Aladino lo puede ayudar a completar los calabozos, y junto a Morgiana (la niña esclava) deciden convertirse en amigos. Luego de algunas aventuras deciden partir caminos para entrenar de esa manera. Cada uno atraviesa varios riesgos y experiencias, y ganan conocimientos trabajando con todo su esfuerzo. ¿Pero esto los ayudará cuando la organización secreta los ataque?

Opinión:

Lo primero que me gustó de este anime fue el escenario. Como caribeña me alegró ver un ambiente con el cual me podía identificar.: el calor, el bosque, la jungla, las cuevas, el océano y mucho más. 

Mis personajes preferidos son: Aladino, Ugo y Titus. La historia es fantástica y presenta muchos valores positivos como el nunca darse por vencido, la amistad y la importancia de derrotar tu pasado y seguir hacia adelante. 

Mi escena favorita fue cuando los tres estaban entrenando (segunda temporada) en la escuela  de magia; lugar donde Aladino conoce a Titus. 

La historia es muy buena y no puedo esperar en saber más sobre Aladino y el pasado y secretos de Sinbad. 

También es importante mencionar que Aladino cambia durante el curso de la serie, al igual que Alibaba, crece, madura y perdura su determinación. Sin embargo, en mi opinión, las tareas de Alibaba se le harán difícil por dos razones claves: su pasado y el hecho de que no puede convocar su djinn. ¿Lo podrá lograr? ¡Averígualo!

My review:

The story starts with a blue-hair boy named Aladdin demanding to know what he is, but the djinn, called Ugo, can’t say the answer. Instead, he offers Aladdin the chance to grant him a wish. Later on, Aladdin meets Alibaba; a young servant who is trying to get rich; while eating all the watermelons Alibaba was supposed to take care of. At Alibaba’s house he explains to Aladdin that fourteen years ago strange magical structures called Dungeons started to appear around the world; and that the person who clears the dungeon can gain wealth and power such as: gold, jewelry and magical items- just what Alibaba needs. But, he also mentions that the best items are the metal djinn vessels. At the streets they see a girl with an enormous basket of fruits, and to make things worst she has chains in her feet, a symbol of being a slave. She notices they are looking at her feet and while trying to hide them she stumbles onto the ground. Aladdin doesn’t like the way Alibaba’s master treats her and decides to call for a short time Ugo to scare them. Afterwards, an accidents occurs in the desert while trying to deliver wine and they see again the powers of Aladdin: his enormous djinn Ugo and his magic turban that transforms into a magic carpet- he can fly! After seeing this Alibaba sees him as someone who could help him complete the dungeon and they decide to become friends along with the girl Morgiana. After some adventures they decide to part ways for training and in doing so they will encounter many risks, experiences and gain knowledge by working hard. But will this help them when a dark, secret organization attacks them? 

My thoughts:

The first thing I liked about this anime was the setting. As a person of the Caribbean it made me happy to see an environment that I can identify with: the heat, the jungle/forests, caves, the ocean and much more. My favorite characters are: Aladdin, Ugo and Titus. The story is fantastic with many things to learn from such as not giving up, friendship and how to defeat your past and move on. My favorite part was when the three of them were training (season two) especially Aladdin as it was a school of magic and where he met Titus. The plot is really good and I can’t wait to know more about Aladdin and Sinbad’s past and about the secret organization. Also, you will noticed how much Aladdin has changed over the course of the story, growing more mature and determined as well Alibaba. Alibaba’s task will be, in my opinion, far more difficult for him for two reasons: his past and that he can’t summon his djinn! Will he be able to do so? Find out!...

It’s the year 2022 and Sword Art Online (SAO for short), a Virtual Reality Massive Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game (VRMMORPG) has been released, selling 10,000 copies. But this game is like no other, as player can control their avatars with their bodies using the NerveGear. The story follows a beta player called Kirito, when one day after practicing with another player; Klein; they realize the log-out button is gone. While discussing the issue they hear a bell and they are suddenly teleported without their will to the principal town. In there, the creator of the game and NerveGear called Kayaba Akihiko explains to the players that he removed the log-out option in order for them to complete the one hundred levels of the game. Meaning, is the only way to be free; but also that if the NerveGear is removed in real life it can end your life because of the powerful radiation the NerveGear will produce toward your brain; an example of this are the first 213 persons that have perish in SAO and in real life. But also, you can die in the game if your HP gets to zero; in other words, the auto-revival or other means can’t be used anymore. Before going away, the Game Master gives them a present: a mirror that transforms your avatar the way you look in real life. Instead of getting together, as time passes the majority of the players doesn’t like the beta players- but even worst the players start to notice they can kill each other even in “safe areas”. Will they ever be able to get out alive? In the second game, called ALfheim Online, Kirito and his friends will encounter more issues than dying in the game and in real life. Kirito’s appearance will change and this new game is about races and magic. In there, he will meet new friends and enemies…in order to save someone really important. 

Thoughts:

This anime is not only great because of the graphics, plot and story itself but because something like this could happen in a future not so far away! Have you ever imagined having the chance to play a game in which you can control your avatar and feel everything as if it were real? I also liked this anime because it talked about different emotional issues and taboos. My favorite characters are: Kirito, Yui and Leafa- don’t get me wrong Asuna is awesome in fighting. Give this anime a try and it will change your life forever. Yes, this is one of those anime.

Es el año 2022 y Sword Art Online (SAO como corto), un Video juego de Realidad Virtual y Rol Multijugador Masivo en Línea (VRMMORPG siglas en inglés) ha sido lanzado, vendiendo 10,000 copias. Pero este no es un juego cualquiera, ya que el jugador puede controlar su personaje con su cuerpo utilizando el ‘NerveGear’. La historia sigue a un jugador beta llamado Kirito, cuando un día luego de practicar con otro jugador; Klein; se percatan que el botón de salida no se encuentra. Mientras discuten sobre el problema ellos escuchan una campana y sin aviso alguno, son teletransportados a la ciudad principal. Ahy, el creador del juego y del ‘NerveGear’, llamado Kayaba Akihiko les explica a todos los jugadores que él removió la opción de salida para que todos completen los cien niveles del juego. En otras palabras, es la única manera de ser libre; pero si el ‘NerveGear’ es removido en vida real, puede acabar con tu vida por la poderosa radiación que el ‘NerveGear’ producirá hacia tu cerebro; un ejemplo de esto fueron las primeras 213 personas que murieron en SAO y en vida real. Pero también, puedes morir en el juego si tu HP (barra de vida) llega a cero; en otras palabras, la opción de revivir u otras maneras no se pueden utilizar ya que no tienen efecto. Antes de retirarse, el ‘Game Master’ les da un regalo: un espejo que transforma tu avatar en la manera en que te ves en vida real. En vez de unirse, mientras el tiempo pasa la mayoría de los jugadores no les cae bien los jugadores beta- pero algo peor es que los jugadores comienzan a percatarse que pueden matarse unos a los otros y hasta en lugares marcados como “seguros”. Lograrán salir con vida? En el segundo juego, llamado ‘ALfheim Online’Kirito y sus amigos encontraran más problemas que el de morirse en el juego y en vida real. La apariencia de Kirito cambiará, y este nuevo juego se basará sobre razas y magia. En él, conocerá nuevos amigos y enemigos…. Con el fin de salvar a alguien muy importante.

Opinión:

Este anime no es solo grandioso por sus gráficas, la trama y la historia misma sino que es algo que podría pasar en un futuro no muy lejano! Alguna vez haz imaginado tener la oportunidad de jugar un video juego en el cual puedas controlar tu avatar y sentir como si todo fuése real? También me gustó este anime porque habló de varios problemas emocionales y tabués. Mis personajes favoritos son: Kirito, Yui and Leafa- no me malinterpreten, Asuna es impresionante en las peleas. Dale una oportunidad a este anime y cambiará tu vida por siempre. Sí, este es uno de esos animes.
